2. Application Process:

Follow these steps to apply for the SMAM scheme:

1. Online Registration:
   • Visit the official SMAM website: SMAM Portal.
   • Select the appropriate option from the Registration dropdown menu.
   • Fill out the registration form with the required information.
2. Submit the Application:
   • Provide accurate details such as your name, contact information, and farming details.
   • Ensure that you have the necessary documents ready, including proof of land ownership or tenancy.
3. Review and Confirmation:
   • Double-check all the information you’ve entered.
   • Submit the form and wait for confirmation.
4. Document Verification:
   • Authorities will verify your application and documents.
   • If everything is in order, you’ll receive further instructions.
5. Benefit Disbursement:
   • Once approved, you’ll receive subsidies ranging from 50% to 80% for purchasing agricultural machinery.
   • The subsidy amount depends on the specific equipment and your eligibility.

3. Mission Components:

The SMAM scheme includes several components to promote agricultural mechanization:

• Training and Demonstration:
  • Conduct performance testing for various farm machinery and equipment.
  • Promote farm mechanization through on-field and off-field training and demonstrations.
• Post-Harvest Technology and Management (PHTM):
  • Demonstrate, train, and distribute post-harvest technology to farmers.
• Financial Assistance for Machinery Procurement:
  • Provide financial aid to farmers for purchasing farm machinery and implements.
• Custom Hiring Centers:
  • Establish custom hiring centers for location-specific machinery and implements.
• High-Tech Equipment Hubs:
  • Develop hubs for hi-tech and high-value farm equipment.

4. Objectives and Benefits:

The SMAM scheme aims to achieve the following objectives:

• Enhance farm mechanization for small and marginal farmers.
• Promote ‘Custom Hiring Centers’ to mitigate the challenges of small landholdings.
• Generate awareness through demonstrations and capacity-building activities.
